The Yemeni Child Rights Law No. 45 was issued in 2002.

The law stipulates the basic rights that Yemeni children, both fetus and child, must enjoy, including the right to life, education, culture, care, and protection from violence and exploitation.

The law specifies the duties of the state, society, and family regarding providing the child’s needs and raising his awareness.

The articles of the law were inspired by the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, and was issued as a form of fulfillment of Yemen's commitment to this convention.
