Two Teenage Girls Drown in a Water Reservoir in Shabwah Governorate

Two teenage girls drowned in a local water reservoir known as a “Karif Ma’a” in the village of Qaradah, located in the Jardan District of Shabwah Governorate.

Sources told Yemen Children Platform that the victims were identified as Sadiqa Yasser Bami Baseef and Zainab Nafea Al-Bami Baseef, aged between 16 and 18 years old.

According to a statement issued by the Shabwah Police Department, the incident occurred while the two girls were near the water body. Attempts to rescue them were unsuccessful, and they were confirmed dead at the scene.

Residents expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the two girls and called on local authorities to implement safety measures to protect children in areas near exposed water sources.
