Injury of an 8-Year-Old Child in Eastern Taiz

An eight-year-old boy, Wisam Waddah Faisal Al-Shamiri, was injured on Monday by a Houthi sniper east of Taiz Governorate.

According to local sources, Wisam was with his uncle, Abdullah Faisal Al-Shamiri (22 years old), when they were targeted by a Houthi sniper stationed at the Central Security camp as they went out to fetch water from a project in the Kalabah neighborhood, east of the city.

The sources added that the sniper fired four direct shots, wounding Wisam in his right leg and his uncle in the knee. Both were transferred to a hospital in the city for treatment.

For years, Taiz has witnessed repeated sniper and shelling attacks targeting children and families in residential neighborhoods, worsening the suffering of civilians and making daily life increasingly perilous.
