Three Children Die in Separate Incidents in Taiz Governorate

Three children died on Monday in two separate incidents in Al-Silw District, Taiz Governorate, due to sudden natural events.

According to local media sources, the first incident occurred when a child was herding sheep in a mountainous area of the district, where a large rock collapsed and fell on him, killing him instantly.

In a separate incident, a lightning strike hit a house in the village of Hajama, in Al-Dha’a subdistrict, killing two siblings — Asaad and his sister Malak — on the spot.

Wide areas of Taiz have been experiencing heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms for several days, increasing the risk of rockslides and lightning strikes, particularly in densely populated mountainous regions.

Weather experts have urged residents to take safety precautions during thunderstorms, avoiding open areas, tall trees, and unfortified structures.
