-       Center for Civilians in Conflict was originally founded as the Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict (CIVIC) in 2003 by Marla Ruzicka, a young American activist and humanitarian who saw that civilians were being injured, killed, and forgotten by the armed parties in conflict.

-       Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC) has received the highest-level “Platinum” rating from GuideStar, which evaluates nonprofit transparency in operations, culture, and impact. To achieve this rating, nonprofits must demonstrate consistent transparency in a number of organizational fields, including Diversity and Inclusion, Strategy, Metrics, and External Evaluation, among others. This rating indicates that CIVIC is committed to organizational transparency in pursuing its mission to ensure the protection of civilians in conflict.

-       Yemen's Children Platform was established with the partnership between The National Organization of Yemeni Reporters, SADA, and CIVIC.
