Taiz: Assault and Detention of Young Girl Sparks Outrage and Urgent Calls for Action

Local sources told Yemen Children Platform that six-year-old Haneen Abdullah Fare’a was physically assaulted by her uncle, identified as Khalil, before being detained along with her mother inside their home and prevented from receiving medical treatment, in Al-Aqroodh area of Al-Masraakh District, Taiz Governorate.

According to the sources, the assault left the child with injuries to multiple areas of her face and body, amid the absence of any immediate response from the relevant authorities. The incident has sparked widespread anger among local residents and human rights activists.

Activists have called on local and security authorities to intervene urgently to rescue the victim and her mother, and to bring those responsible to justice, stressing that negligence in such cases poses a serious threat to the safety and well-being of children in Yemen.
