More than 3.4 million children have been vaccinated against polio in Aden.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced the arrival of a new shipment of polio vaccines at Aden International Airport on Sunday, ensuring the life-saving vaccine reaches more than 3.4 million children.
The organization said in a statement published on its official account on the X platform that this quantity of vaccines will be used in the upcoming national polio immunization campaign, aiming to protect more than 1.3 million children under the age of five across various regions of Yemen.
Last May, UNICEF announced the receipt of the first batch of 9.5 tons of vaccines for the routine immunization program, including vaccines against measles, polio, and other deadly childhood diseases. The organization confirmed that these efforts are supported by the Global Vaccine Alliance (Gavi), as part of a joint effort to promote children's health in Yemen and address life-threatening diseases amid existing health challenges.
