Marib Office of Social Affairs and Labor Concludes Training Program to Strengthen Child Protection Workforce
The Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Marib Governorate has concluded an eight-day training program on Child Protection and Case Management, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacities of the Ministry's child protection workforce across the governorate.
The program was held under the patronage of Lieutenant General Sultan bin Ali Al-Aradah, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, and H.E. Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor. It was supervised by the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Marib and supported by Save the Children.
Implemented by the Social Welfare Sector, represented by the Department of Social Defense and the Department of Social Assistance, the training equipped participants with the Unified Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Guide and the Inter-Agency Guiding Principles for Child Protection and Case Management. The program lasted for eight days.
A total of 32 social workers from various districts across Marib Governorate participated in the training, including Marib City, Marib Al-Wadi, and the districts of Raghwan and Harib. The program aimed to enhance their professional skills and strengthen their capacity to address child protection cases and deliver social services in accordance with approved procedures and standards.
The Director of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Marib emphasized the importance of the training, noting that it would improve the quality of fieldwork carried out by social workers and strengthen their role in supporting children and displaced families living in camps.
For his part, Abdullah Qaqib, Director of the Social Defense Department and NGO Coordinator at the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Marib, explained that the training aimed to enable social workers to effectively apply standardized procedures in the field, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of interventions and services provided to the most vulnerable groups.
