Seven children killed and another girl injured in house fire in Marib
Local and medical sources reported on Wednesday, April 8, an initial toll from a house fire that broke out in central Marib city, northeastern Yemen. The incident resulted in the deaths of seven children and the injury of another girl, among a total of 17 casualties, including a woman.
Medical sources stated that the fire engulfed a house in the Dhi Al-Nourain neighborhood, killing six children and a woman at the scene, before the death toll later rose to seven children, in addition to nine others who were injured.
Sources suggested that the fire was likely caused by the storage of petroleum materials inside the house.
They added that ambulance teams responded to the incident and transferred the injured to hospitals for treatment, noting that some cases remain in critical condition.
