Training Course on Child Protection and Case Management Concludes in Abyan with the Participation of 30 Trainees

Under the patronage of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, and the Governor of Abyan, Maj. Gen. Dr. Mukhtar Al-Rubash, a training course on Child Protection and Case Management concluded in Khanfar District, Abyan Governorate. The course was implemented by Save the Children in cooperation with the Social Welfare Sector, the Social Defense Sector, and the Social Assistance Sector of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.

The eight-day training targeted 30 male and female participants from various districts across Abyan Governorate. It aimed to strengthen their capacities in child protection and enhance their skills in applying case management mechanisms in accordance with internationally recognized standards, contributing to improved services for children most in need of protection.

The training program focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and practical skills related to child protection, professional intervention mechanisms, and case management, thereby enhancing the capacities of social workers and professionals working in the child protection sector.

The closing ceremony was attended by Saleh Mahmoud, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor for the Social Welfare Sector; Ehab Yabreesh, Director General of Social Defense; Monya Al-Ezzani, Director General of Social Assistance; and Yahya Al-Yazeedi, Director General of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Abyan, along with a number of officials and stakeholders.

The training course is part of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor's capacity-building programs, implemented in partnership with Save the Children, to strengthen the skills of ministry staff and social workers and ensure the delivery of child care and protection services in line with international best practices and humanitarian standards.
