Yemen Children Platform and Informedia for Peace: Practical Steps Toward Peacebuilding Through Child Protection

The Yemen Children Platform, in partnership with the Informedia for Peace team, implemented a protection-focused activity titled “Integrating Conflict-Affected Generations: From Margins to Participation,” as part of the project “Community Resilience Through Rehabilitation and Integration of Youth and Children.” The activity was carried out in collaboration with Qatrat Development Foundation and with support from GCERF, on Saturday and Sunday, 29–30 November 2025.

The event began with psychosocial support sessions for mothers and children led by psychological specialist Fatima Al-Harazi. The first day featured group sessions that benefited 20 mothers, covering topics such as building trust, initial emotional release, coping with psychological stress, and promoting family mental well-being. Individual sessions were also provided for 10 mothers.

On the second day, a group session for mothers titled “Mothers’ Inner Peace and Its Role in Their Children’s Well-Being” was held, followed by individual sessions for 6 mothers. Additionally, a group psychosocial support session for children was conducted under the theme “Psychological Support.”

The program also included mental-health–supportive activities such as drawing with artist Tasneem Hameed, and interactive sports activities supervised by trainer Khaled Al-Baghawi. In total, the activity targeted 40 children and 20 mothers.

Both children and mothers expressed positive engagement across all activities and shared their happiness in participating, noting that the event offered them a safe space for expression and creativity, helped reduce psychological stress, and strengthened family bonds.
