Minister of Education Discusses Strengthening Cooperation in Education and Child Protection with War Child Organization
His Excellency the Minister of Education, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulmajid Al-Abadi, met with representatives of War Child, where they discussed the organization’s areas of intervention in the education sector and ways to strengthen cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Education to support the educational process.
During the meeting, the organization presented its main areas of intervention, which focus on three key pillars: education, child protection, and psychosocial support. Representatives of the organization highlighted their current interventions in Hadramout Governorate, implemented in cooperation with Hadramout University. These include the establishment of a center for girls targeting students from the third year of secondary school through the university level, with the aim of empowering girls and enhancing their educational and training opportunities.
In the same context, the organization explained that it is implementing interventions in the education sector in Taiz Governorate targeting out-of-school children, with a focus on supporting efforts to increase school enrollment rates and expand access to education for the most vulnerable groups.
For his part, the Minister emphasized the importance of advancing the level of education and improving the quality of its outcomes. He also stressed the need to strengthen partnership and coordination with international and local organizations in order to support the education sector and expand learning opportunities for children, especially in light of the challenges facing the educational process.
The meeting was attended from the organization’s side by Mr. Iyad Mohammed, Program Manager, and Mr. Qaboos Ali, Aden Office Director. Also present was Dr. Aref Al-Qutaybi, Deputy Head of the Literacy and Adult Education Authority and Director General of Compensatory Education.
