Fire at Displacement Camp Claims the Lives of Two Children in Marib Governorate
Two children from the same family died today after a fire broke out at a displacement camp in the Al-Jufaynah area of Marib Governorate, in an incident that once again highlights the dangers threatening the lives of displaced people inside the camps.
Local sources said the fire erupted suddenly inside the camp, leading to the immediate death of the child, Jandal Yahya Al-Marrani (10 years old), after the flames spread rapidly through the area.
The sources added that the girl, Malak Yahya Al-Marrani (12 years old), sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital to receive treatment, but later died from her injuries.
The incident sparked widespread sorrow among displaced families and local residents, amid repeated calls to improve safety measures in displacement camps and to provide adequate protection to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies, particularly given the harsh humanitarian conditions faced by displaced families.
