Death of Two Children Drowned in Floodwaters in Bayhan District – Shabwa

Two children died on Wednesday evening after drowning in a pool of floodwaters caused by heavy rains in Bayhan District, Shabwa Governorate.

A local source told Yemen’s Children platform that the incident occurred in the Al-Jadfara area, where the children drowned while attempting to swim in the floodwater basin formed by the torrential rains.

According to statistics from Yemen’s Children platform, the number of child victims due to floods and heavy rains since the beginning of August has risen to 14.

It is worth noting that most districts of Shabwa have witnessed heavy rainfall since the start of the week, with forecasts from meteorological centers indicating continued rainfall in the coming days.
