Minister Al-Zou’ari Discusses Strengthening Child Protection Cooperation with UNICEF Director

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Al-Zou’ari, held a meeting today in the interim capital, Aden, with Dr. Sahar Hejazi, the newly appointed head of the UNICEF office in Aden, to discuss enhancing cooperation and joint coordination between the two sides. The discussions focused on activating developmental and humanitarian programs and promoting a safe and sustainable environment for children across various governorates.
At the outset of the meeting, Minister Al-Zou’ari welcomed Dr. Hejazi and wished her success in her new role, praising UNICEF’s active role as a key partner in supporting the ministry’s efforts in child protection and the advancement of social programs.
The minister stressed the importance of strengthening the existing partnership between the ministry and UNICEF’s Aden office, highlighting joint achievements in the development and implementation of several projects, most notably the Strategic Framework for Social Protection and the National Child Protection Plan, among other programs that contribute to human development in the country.
For her part, Dr. Sahar Hejazi reaffirmed UNICEF’s commitment to maintaining close cooperation with the ministry to achieve tangible outcomes for children and to further develop social protection programs in Yemen.
