Mother and Four Children Killed in Collapse of Mud House in Al-Jumaymah District, Hajjah Governorate
A mother and her four children were killed on Sunday, June 14, after an old mud house collapsed on its occupants in Al-Khutwah area of Al-Jumaymah District, Hajjah Governorate, according to local sources.
Sources told Yemen Daily News that the deteriorating house suddenly collapsed while the family was inside, resulting in the death of the mother and her four children beneath the rubble.
According to available information, the victims were the 35-year-old mother and her children: Ahmed Abdu Mastool (6 years old), Mortada Abdu Mastool (4 years old), Rayhana Abdu Mastool (2 years old), and Salah Ali Mastool (8 years old).
The sources indicated that the tragedy was caused by the severe deterioration of the house and the lack of maintenance and repairs. The family’s difficult living conditions had prevented them from renovating the structure or securing safer housing, ultimately leading to the fatal incident.
