Three girls injured in flash floods in Taiz

TAIZ – Special sources told Yemen,s Children Platform that three young girls from the same family in Jabal Habashi district, Taiz governorate, were injured in flash floods. The victims were identified as Risala, Nasaem, and Afaf. Their sister, Naseela (aged over 20), remains missing as search operations continue.

According to the sources, the heavy rainfall and flooding also claimed the life of their father, Fouad Bajash (45), along with his eldest daughter. Meanwhile, another relative, Mohammed Bajash (50), sustained varying injuries.

Experts have warned of the grave dangers children face near flood channels and water streams during heavy rains, stressing that such incidents pose a direct threat to children’s lives. Families were urged to closely monitor their children and raise awareness about the risks of floods and lightning throughout the rainy season.
