Marib: Child Drowns as Civil Defense Warns Against Swimming in Flood Channels

The Civil Defense branch in Marib Governorate announced on Saturday, September 20, the death of a 10-year-old boy who drowned while swimming in the Al-Mail watercourse in Al-Madina District.
In a statement, Civil Defense explained that the child, Harith Humeir Mohammed Saghir Abu Said, from the Al-Rawda – Al-Mail area, was taken to Marib General Hospital in critical condition after being rescued. He was admitted to the intensive care unit but later died due to complications from drowning.
The department warned of the dangers of swimming in flood channels and non-designated areas, stressing that such tragic incidents are often the result of negligence and failure to follow safety guidelines. It urged families to closely monitor their children and prevent them from entering hazardous sites to protect their lives and safety.
