Four Children and a Woman Die from Suffocation Incident in Lahj Governorate
Four children and a woman, including a fetus, died at dawn on Friday, March 20, 2026, in Yafa District, Lahj Governorate, as a result of a suffocation incident inside their home in the village of Arhal, Al-Mawsata area.
Local sources reported that the incident occurred while the family was asleep, due to inhaling gas emitted from a gas heater that had been left on inside the house, leading to their deaths.
Such incidents are considered among the risks associated with the use of traditional heating methods in cold areas, particularly in enclosed spaces with inadequate ventilation.
