Four Children Killed in Traffic Accident in Abyan Province

Four children and their father were killed on Friday morning in a traffic collision between their motorcycle and a vehicle driven by Colonel Abdulrahman al-Shenini, commander of the Counterterrorism Forces in Abyan province.

According to security authorities, the crash occurred at around 8:30 a.m. on the Zinjibar–Ja’ar road in the Joukra area, due to shared fault by both parties, based on field investigations overseen by the Traffic Police Department under the supervision of Major Ahmed al-Haddi.

A joint statement issued by the Security Command, the Security Belt, and the Counterterrorism Unit in Abyan confirmed that Colonel al-Shenini voluntarily turned himself in to traffic police after the incident. He was placed in custody at the provincial security department pending legal procedures and the referral of the case to the Traffic Prosecution Office.

The statement stressed that the accident was unintentional and cautioned against attempts to exploit the incident politically or circulate photos and videos for personal or blackmail purposes, emphasizing that such actions do not represent the victims’ family.
