Child Killed and Mother Injured in Tribal Ambush in Amran
An 8-year-old child was killed and his mother was injured on Friday in an ambush targeting the family’s vehicle in Rida District, Amran, northern Yemen.
The ambush resulted in the killing of the child, Nasser Jibran Hizam Harash, and his father, Sheikh Jibran Hizam Harash, while the child’s mother was also injured.
The incident sparked widespread anger and condemnation among local residents and tribal communities, particularly because a child and a woman were targeted in the attack.
The incident was followed by armed clashes in the Kharif–Rida area between gunmen from Bait Hizam Dhafran Harash and others from Al Sadiq Al Shibari, during which light and medium weapons were used.
