Al-Mahra: Child Killed, Three Family Members Injured

The city of Nashtoon in Al-Mahra governorate witnessed two consecutive armed incidents last week, which left a 10-year-old child dead and three others from the same family injured, following direct gunfire by armed men over a personal dispute that escalated into a criminal act.

According to eyewitnesses cited by Yemen Children’s Platform, on Thursday evening, September 25, 2025, citizen Mushtaq Al-Juradi was shot while at the market, sustaining an injury to his leg. The attack also caused damage to his car as well as several public and private properties.

On Saturday evening, September 27, the assailants returned and targeted citizen Mohib Al-Juradi and his children while they were near their home. Mohib and his two sons, Humam (10) and Ayman (8), were injured and rushed to Al-Ghaydah Central Hospital, where they underwent emergency surgeries. However, Humam later died from his wounds.

Residents of Al-Mahra have appealed to the Ministries of Interior and Justice to assert state authority and increase security presence, stressing that the unchecked spread of weapons poses a grave threat to innocent lives and undermines social peace.
