Child Injured Due to Weapon Mishandling in Lahj Governorate

Security media affiliated with the Ministry of Interior reported that a child was injured in an incident resulting from weapon mishandling in Lahj Governorate, amid a rise in such incidents that claim dozens of lives every year.

In a statement, the security media clarified that the child, Salah Saleh Ali Abdulrab Al-Dawoodi (4 years old), from Lahj Governorate, sustained a gunshot wound to his foot after his 7-year-old brother mishandled a firearm inside their home.

The statement renewed its warning about the dangers of leaving weapons within children’s reach or handling them without adhering to safety procedures, stressing that negligence in this regard leads to tragic incidents that threaten the lives of children, women, and youth.
