Successful Delivery of Quadruplets at Kara General Hospital in Marib

Medical sources at Kara General Hospital in Marib Governorate reported on Tuesday, June 2, the successful cesarean delivery of quadruplets to a mother who gave birth to one boy and three girls.

The sources told Yemen Daily News that the pregnancy had been closely monitored since the third month by Dr. Seham Shaaban, who continuously followed the case until the mother was admitted to the operating room.

According to the sources, the cesarean section was performed under the supervision of Dr. Laila Handhal, with the participation of Dr. Moayad Atiyah as the anesthesiologist, Ibrahim as the operating room technician, and Ghufran as part of the anesthesia team.

The sources stated that both the mother and her four newborns are in good health and are currently receiving the necessary medical care at the hospital. They noted that such cases are considered rare births.

This case comes two years after a similar incident in Marib Governorate, where a medical team at Marib General Hospital successfully performed a cesarean section in April 2024 for a mother who gave birth to triplets.

At the time, a medical source told Yemen Daily News that a team led by Dr. Nahid Ismail carried out a 60-minute cesarean operation for a 32-year-old woman, which was successfully completed, resulting in the birth of three babies—two girls and one boy.
