New Arab Guide to Strengthen Human Rights Education in Schools for 2026
A new guide highlighting best practices and experiences in human rights education across the Arab region for 2026 has been launched. The guide aims to support teachers, educators, and educational institutions in integrating human rights principles into the school environment and promoting a culture of rights among children and adolescents.
The guide serves as a practical reference, offering simplified human rights concepts along with classroom and extracurricular activities that can be readily implemented. It seeks to reinforce the values of human dignity, citizenship, and active participation in public life.
The publication addresses a broad range of fundamental rights and principles, including the right to education, the right to health, the right to an adequate standard of living encompassing food and housing, and the right to a clean and sustainable environment. It also covers the principles of equality and non-discrimination, the right to freedom of opinion and expression, the right to participate in public life, human rights in the digital space, and the rights of groups requiring special protection.
