Houthi Supervisor Violently Assaults Child in Raymah Province
The Al-Ja’fariyah district of Raymah province witnessed a brutal assault against a child, after a Houthi supervisor identified as H. Q. A. violently attacked a child and his mother in Bani Al-Harazi area, causing them serious injuries.
According to media sources, the child W. M. D. was severely beaten by the supervisor until he lost consciousness. When his mother rushed to rescue him, she too was violently attacked, sustaining heavy bleeding and serious wounds.
The sources added that the mother and her child were urgently transferred to a hospital in Beit Al-Faqih district, Al-Hodeidah governorate, to receive medical treatment. The incident has sparked widespread anger among local residents, who demanded that the perpetrator be held accountable and that his abuses be stopped.
The same sources revealed that the perpetrator, Al-Qulaisi, holds multiple positions within the Houthi authority, including Director of Antiquities in the governorate, Head of Mobilization in Al-Ja’fariyah district, Supervisor of the education sector, and an influential tribal sheikh in the area.
Local activists confirmed that this is not the first incident of its kind, but part of a series of violations committed by the same supervisor against civilians amid the silence of concerned authorities. They warned of the growing violence against civilians—particularly women and children—in Raymah province.
