Four Children Die in Ibb Floods While Returning from Grazing

Four children lost their lives in Ibb governorate, central Yemen, due to flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall in the Al-Sha’awir area of Hazm Al-Odain district, west of the governorate. The incident occurred while the children were returning home from grazing sheep in the nearby mountains.
According to local media sources, the children were swept away by floodwaters as they attempted to reach their homes. The tragedy coincided with the onset of the rainy season in the region.
In a separate incident, a young man named Salah Abdu Ahmed died in Al-Sabra district, southeast of Ibb, after being struck by large falling rocks caused by the intense rainfall.
Local reports indicate that since the beginning of the rainy season, Ibb has recorded the death and injury of more than 20 people, including children, due to floods and lightning strikes. The heavy rains have also led to the collapse of homes and drowning incidents in open wells and water ponds.
