Child Dies After Lightning Strike in Al-Mahwit

A child, Rabish Khammash, died on Friday after a lightning strike hit his family’s home in the Rouhan area of Al-Rujum District, Al-Mahwit Governorate.

According to local sources, the lightning strike killed the child instantly and caused significant damage to the contents of the house. The family was already living in difficult conditions, like many rural families in Yemen who lack basic protection against natural disasters.

The incident comes amid ongoing weather disturbances affecting several parts of the country.
