Cold Wave Claims the Life of a Displaced Child in Marib Camps

Private sources from the same family told the Yemen Children Platform that the displaced child (A.Y.H), approximately two and a half years old, died after her health condition deteriorated due to the sharp drop in temperatures. The sources explained that the family had recently arrived at one of the displacement camps after fleeing Hadramout, without having access to heating supplies or adequate shelter to protect them from the winter cold.

In the same context, authorities concerned with displacement affairs in Marib confirmed that the governorate has recently witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of displaced families arriving from the eastern governorates. This comes at a time when humanitarian interventions remain limited, exacerbating the suffering of displaced people and forcing many to live in the open or in fragile shelters that offer little protection from harsh winter conditions.
