Civil Defense teams of the Marib Police rescue a child from drowning in the Marib Dam diversion channel
Civil Defense teams of the Marib Governorate Police rescued, this evening, a 12-year-old child, identified as F.A.A.D., who was on the verge of losing his life after nearly drowning in the waters of the Marib Dam diversion channel, following a swift intervention by Civil Defense divers present at the site.
The Civil Defense Department explained that the child had entered the diversion area to swim before being swept away by the current. Rescue teams responded immediately to the incident, and one of the divers managed to pull him out in time and provide the necessary first aid. The department confirmed that the child is now in good health.
The Civil Defense Department of Marib Police renewed its warning to citizens against swimming or approaching the diversion waters due to the serious danger they pose to lives. It also called on parents to closely monitor their children and raise their awareness about the risks of such locations to ensure their safety.
