Child in Al-Dhalea Ends His Life After a Minor Exam Setback
Sources told Yemen Children Platform that the child Tyal Mabrouk Masaad Naji Al-Dubaissi, a student from Al-Haqab District in Al-Dhalea Governorate, was found dead after he hanged himself at his home upon returning from school, following a minor setback in his exam results.
According to sources close to the child, he was known for his intelligence and academic excellence. However, a drop in his grade in one subject came as a severe shock to him, ultimately driving him to end his life in a tragic manner.
The incident sparked widespread grief among residents and the educational community, who called for strengthening psychological support for students and changing the ways academic pressure and exam results are handled. They stressed that education should be a means of growth and empowerment, not a source of fear.
This tragedy serves as an alarm bell highlighting the lack of awareness about the importance of children’s mental health and the urgent need for a more compassionate and supportive educational environment.
