Child Killed, Others Injured in Shooting by Mentally Disturbed Individual

A tragic incident occurred on Saturday in the Radāʿ District of Al-Bayda Governorate, where 12-year-old child Waleed Al-ʿAnsi lost his life after being shot by a man reportedly suffering from mental health issues.

According to local sources, the perpetrator opened fire indiscriminately in a neighborhood within the district and inside a mosque shortly after the Maghrib (sunset) prayer. The attack resulted in the immediate death of the child and left several others injured, who were subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Residents of the area expressed deep shock over the incident and called on security authorities to take swift action to prevent such tragedies from recurring. They also urged for better monitoring and care of individuals with mental health disorders who may pose a threat to public safety.
