Child Dies While Searching for Water in Taiz

A ten-year-old boy, Moatassem bin Haidar Al-Balaf, from the village of Mihal in the Mashra‘ah Wa Hadnan district of Taiz Governorate, died in a tragic accident while trying to fetch a container of water.

Sources told Yemen Children Platform that Moatassem was on his way to a nearby area in search of water when he was involved in an accident that led to his death. The heartbreaking incident sheds light on the suffering of children in areas deprived of basic services.

The tragedy underscores the harsh reality faced by thousands of children in rural Yemen, where a lack of infrastructure—particularly access to clean water—forces children to shoulder burdens far beyond their age.
