Training of Trainers Course on Healthy Child-Rearing Guide Launched in Aden

A Training of Trainers (TOT) course on the Healthy Child-Rearing Awareness Guide was launched today in the temporary capital, Aden. The program is organized by the National Center for Health Education and Information in cooperation with UNICEF, with the participation of 19 health education directors and their deputies from the liberated governorates.

The six-day course aims to strengthen the capacities of participants and equip them with training and community awareness skills related to the Healthy Child-Rearing Program. The initiative seeks to promote health messages and positive behaviors linked to child and family health, while building a network of trainers capable of implementing health awareness programs across various governorates.

During the opening session, the Assistant Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Ishraq Al-Subaihi, stressed the importance of implementing such specialized programs aimed at building the capacities of health workers in the field of health education and media. She noted that early childhood represents the foundation for building a healthy and sound society.

She also praised the support provided by UNICEF to the health sector and community awareness programs, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts between the ministry and international partners to expand health and awareness initiatives across different governorates.

For her part, the Director of the Health Education and Promotion Department at the National Center for Health Education and Information, Dr. Samar Abdullah, explained that the course includes a comprehensive scientific and practical program focusing on concepts of healthy child-rearing, behavior change methods, and health messaging frameworks, in addition to training-of-trainers skills and effective facilitation and community communication techniques.

She affirmed that the course comes within the Ministry of Health’s efforts to strengthen community health education programs and build specialized cadres capable of leading health awareness campaigns using modern scientific approaches that contribute to improving health indicators for children and mothers.
