A mother and her two children, Aiham and Maram, were killed, while the father, Najeeb Al-Qubati, sustained severe burns and remains in the intensive care unit after a tragic fire broke out at the family's home in Taiz Governorate following the explosion of a battery connected to a solar power system, according to local sources.
The sources said the fire claimed the lives of the mother and her two children, while the father suffered critical burn injuries and is still receiving treatment in intensive care, amid concerns over his condition.
The sources added that the family's five-month-old baby survived the incident. The fire also caused significant property damage and left the local community in deep shock and mourning.
The incident underscores the importance of adhering to safety standards when installing and using solar power systems, as well as carrying out regular maintenance of their components to reduce the risk of similar household accidents.
