Graduation of New Cohorts of Professional Master’s Doctors in Pediatrics in Taiz Governorate
Taiz Governorate witnessed the graduation of three cohorts of professional master’s doctors, led by specialists in pediatrics, in an important step aimed at strengthening the healthcare sector and improving child health services amid the growing need for specialized medical personnel.
During the event, the Governor of Taiz noted that pediatrics is among the highest-priority medical specialties due to its pivotal role in protecting children’s health and improving the quality of medical care provided to them, particularly in light of the current health and humanitarian challenges.
He emphasized that the professional master’s program in pediatrics contributes to qualifying doctors with advanced scientific and practical skills, enabling them to manage childhood diseases and critical cases and to deliver more specialized healthcare services within hospitals and health centers.
Participants in the ceremony explained that the accreditation of the pediatrics specialty within the programs of the Yemeni Medical and Health Specialties Board represents a qualitative shift in the development of child health services, helping to address the shortage of qualified personnel and improve children’s access to safe and comprehensive healthcare.
The ceremony also included a brief presentation on the trajectory of the professional master’s program since the opening of the Board’s branch in Taiz in September 2021, as well as the accreditation of several hospitals as training centers—an effort that has contributed to graduating specialized pediatric cohorts within the governorate.
It is expected that the graduation of these pediatric doctors will have a positive impact on the level of child health services and strengthen children’s right to health, particularly in the most underserved areas.
