Child Injured in Abyan Shooting, One Suspect Arrested

A child, Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Maysari, was injured on the evening of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, following a shooting incident in the central market of Zinjibar city, Abyan Governorate. He was urgently transferred to Aden for medical treatment.

According to a statement from the Abyan Security Department, security forces launched an immediate investigation after receiving a report that armed individuals, riding a black Toyota Corolla and a motorcycle, opened fire indiscriminately. The attack injured the child Abdullah, as well as two other civilians, Ayman Ibrahim Al-Hattari and Hamid Al-Salahi.

Security forces were able to locate and arrest one of the suspects, identified as (S.S.M.A), who was riding the motorcycle during the incident. He was apprehended at a residence in Zinjibar and is currently in custody pending legal procedures. The search continues for the remaining perpetrators.

The Abyan Security Department reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens, particularly children, and called on the public to cooperate with the authorities to prevent the recurrence of such incidents that endanger innocent lives and disrupt public safety.
