Children at the Center of an Awareness Campaign Warning Against Screen Risks: “Behind Every Screen… An Unseen Impact”
An online awareness campaign will launch at 8:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, under the hashtag #Behind_Every_Screen_An_Unseen_Impact, aiming to shed light on the hidden effects of excessive screen use on children.
The campaign focuses on raising awareness among children and parents about the negative consequences of overusing smartphones and tablets, including impacts on mental health, behavior, and concentration. It also seeks to تعزيز the role of families in regulating screen time and encouraging children to engage in meaningful, real-life activities that help develop their skills and abilities.
The initiative is organized by third-year female students from the Department of Media (Public Relations major) at the University of Saba Region, as part of the “Media Campaigns” course requirements, driven by their belief in the vital role of media in protecting children and promoting community awareness of educational and health-related issues.
The organizers called on parents, teachers, and all those concerned with child welfare to engage with the campaign and contribute to spreading its awareness messages, helping to reduce the risks of excessive technology use and foster a safe and healthy environment that supports children’s proper development.
